JOAN ROMANI "SCARAMUIX"

The paintings of Scaramuix despite being as well known and classic as a portrait, play with bright and vivid colors and styles that remind one of more post-modernist artists. His work has been defined as modernly-antimodern. His pure style is faithful to master strokes that have their roots in his experiences and idiosyncrasy: a personal vision at the margin of the mainstream of contemporary art, basing itself on a realism. His outstanding quality as an illustrator allowed him along with two others artists, to win the 1987 competition to represent Warner Bros in Spain.
